Debbie of @debbies.whimsie pattern tested a Baby size of Home Track. I love the blues that Debbie used. Check out Debbie on Instagram here.
Where do you live? Originally from Southern CA, now living in Idaho
How long have you been quilting? I made my first quilt in 1977 and a few more over the years but really became quilt-obsessed when I retired in 2018.
Why do you pattern test? I'm a self-taught quilter and enjoy learning new construction methods & approaches. I also really enjoy meeting new quilters & making new online friends.
What do you love about Home Track? I love the clean, modern design, it's stylish and impactful. It's a beginner friendly quilt, fun and quick to make. The design is very versatile, not too masculine or feminine so suitable for gifting to anyone.
What was your inspiration or colors used for Home Track? My favorite colors of blue range from teal to turquoise and aqua. This quilt gave me the opportunity to showcase them all. The focal (A) fabric is from the Forest Chatter line from Maywood Studios. The remaining fabrics are Thatched by Robin Pickens for Moda.
What is one quilting goal you have? To continue to learn and improve my skills. I love tackling projects that challenge me to learn new techniques.
What is your favorite quilting tool you have? I'd have to say the rotary cutter. My first quilt was a Trip Around the World quilt, made up of 1225 3" squares, all traced with cardboard templates and cut with scissors. The rotary cutter is such a game changer, saving time and improving precision.
