Meet Cross Track Pattern Tester: Sara of @oquirrhmtnquilter

I am so excited to introduce you to all of my amazing quilters that tested Cross Track. This meant the world to me to see these quilts come to life as this was my very first pattern to write. Thanks to Quilter's Candy Quilt Pattern Writing Course. It is so incredible to see something I designed come to life and how each one has a totally different feel. I have enjoyed getting to know each one of these talented testers and would love for you to get to know them as well. Even better get to see the amazing quilts they created.

Sara of @oquirrhmtnquilter pattern tested a Baby size of Cross Track. I loved that Sara did not use an ombre for this quilt. It really shows off the versatility of this pattern. Check out Sara on Instagram here.

Where do you live? West Jordan, Utah

How long have you been quilting? It'll be 3 years in May :)

Why do you pattern test? Mostly because love being able to work alongside other quilters to produce something. Oddly enough pattern testing helps me ensure I make time to craft and have some self care time. It also helps getting the creative juices flowing if I'm in a slump! So many things to love!

What do you love about Cross Track? Love the asymmetrical echo feel to it! It's also very versatile with solids or prints, having an ombre palette, or a contrasting palette, a million ways to make a beautiful quilt.

What was your inspiration or colors used for Cross Track? My boyfriend has been dying for me to make him a quilt (even though he doesn't like to use blankets lol) and so I wanted a more masculine palette. He's really into hunting and one day we were out together and the landscape beautifully went from the sage brush and wild grass to snow covered mountains with coniferous trees so that set the colors and feel I wanted for this quilt. Magically Winter Frost by Figo perfectly encapsulated this with a little help from a a Dear Stella Blender

Fabrics used:

Dear Stella Blender.

Figo winter frost twigs on black

Figo winter frost brown little trees

Dear stella dash flow moss

Art gallery pure solids evergreen

Northcott premium solid vapor

What is one quilting goal? I'd love to get a long arm one day, but until then I will work on improving my domestic machine free motion quilting skills!
